Quadratics Project Review
During this project we covered many topics, including solving for the "a" coefficient, converting from standard form to vertex form, finding the x-coordinates, finding the vortex, and many others. This specific project really challenged us to think outside of the box to solve problems that we had never seen before. The quadratics project helped us to apply what we were learning to the real world with the postcard assignment as well.
The purpose of the quadratics postcard activity was to find ways that we could apply parabolas and quadratic equations to the real world. We found that everything from sports to things in nature used quadratic formulas and it was really interesting to learn about. We were each assigned to come up with a question as to why quadratics applied to a certain thing, then we were assigned to make a postcard with an example.
Through the entirety of this project I was attentive and tried my best to take down all of the notes so that I can look back on them at a later date. What went well was probably the notes that I took because when I wrote down what we were learning it helped me to better understand it. Something that didn't go so well was trying to create my own equation for my question because you're creating an entirely new equation yourself and solving it. If I had more time I would have possibly spent a little more time on the math and making it look a little more publish worthy as I think that I could have made it look better.
